Overview
Electrode caps are a critical component in your collection of EEG. Choosing the right cap for your application and lab preferences is important, which is why Neuracle provides multiple options for caps. This allows you to choose the best solution for your needs or multiple solutions for different experiments and applications.
All of our caps are plug and play compatible with the Collect and Rally software with the pinout and montage provided. The electrode positions on the cap adhere to the 10-20 system of electrode placement and come in a variety of sizes (child and adults) and channel counts (ranging from 8 to 64). Custom caps of any type can also be made.

This cap provides an electrode that is enclosed in a shallow holder which sits close to the scalp. The electrode holder has a large hole which allows you to visualize the hair and scalp as well as inject the gel via a syringe. Because these electrodes are shallow, they are ideal for multimodal applications such as fNIRS, stimulation and VR, as the electrodes do not protrude much off the scalp.
The Flat cap shell is made of “breathable” elastic mesh fabric, which is comfortable to wear and allows good airflow and temperature control. This is also a very durable material to allow a long life of use and cleaning.
The 10-20 electrode positioning is accurate and stable, and are clearly labeled for each channel with the common electrode naming convention. The size of the cap is also clearly labeled for reference.
The Flat Cap uses a permanently conductive sintered Ag/AgCl electrode, which has extremely low-frequency noise characteristics, excellent signal quality, high signal-to-noise ratio, and strong anti-interference performance. Most importantly, sintered electrodes do not degrade over time, ensuring quality recordings for the life of the cap.
This type of cap is suitable for a wide range of applications, from electroencephalography (EEG), event-related potentials (ERP), cognitive psychology, neuroscience, brain-computer interfaces, and other fields
● Ag/AgCl sintered electrodes, low noise, anti-interference
● Fast placement and application with fixed electrodes based on anatomical landmarks
● Extremely low low-frequency noise, suitable for high-precision EEG acquisition needs such as DC EEG and ERP
● The electrode base has a large hole design, which is convenient for visualizing the scalp and injecting conductive gelFeatures

This cap provides an electrode that is enclosed in a rubberized cup which sits slightly off the scalp. The electrode holder has a small hole at the top of the cup, which allows you to inject the gel via a syringe and fill the space between the scalp and electrode. Because the cup fits snug to the scalp, it acts to contain the gel ensuring no cross-talk or leakage when the proper amount of gel is used. Because of the amount of electrode gel that fills the cup, this cap is suitable for longer recordings without the worry of the gel drying out.

The Saline Net is an alternative to gel based caps which uses a liquid electrolyte and a cotton sponge applicator seated over a Ag/AgCl electrode embedded in a unique electrode holder system which provides a form fitting tension due to its open and elastic design. The Saline Net provides maximum visibility of the scalp and hair as well as comfort and ease of application. Since individual electrodes are not injected with gel, all of the electrodes on the Saline Net are saturated with electrolytes at the same time and then placed on the head ready for recordings. Simple adjustments of the way the electrodes are seated on the scalp and the addition of liquid electrolytes to reduce any electrodes with higher impedance can easily be done.
The Saline Net is designed for fast application of the electrodes to maximize the subject and experimenters time. While scalp-electrode impedance is often a bit higher than standard gel based recordings, modern amplifiers are nearly immune to the difference between gel and saline electrodes and this difference is only really important in specific research applications.
The cap uses a saline solution instead of conductive gel to enhance the conductivity between the scalp and the electrodes. This makes it quicker and easier to prepare and apply the cap.The cap body is made of highly elastic and soft silicone material, ensuring comfort and most importantly durability. Our Saline Net is manufactured from the ground up with high quality components to ensure long lasting durability. The fabric sponge columns also boast excellent water retention properties, capable of supporting monitoring sessions lasting several hours. It is widely used in cognitive neuroscience research, ambulatory monitoring, brain-computer interface etc.
● High-quality silicone cap body, durable
● Pure Ag/AgCl electrodes, high-quality and reliable signals
● Reusable electrodes and minimal clean up reduce overall costs
● Long-lasting moisture retention, stable measurements for several hours
● Design for quick application, faster set up and reduced preparation time
● Quick drying after washing, increases the usage rate of the electrode cap
● Fabric sponge for precision slow-release saline, effectively avoiding salt bridges
